Dr. Shawn Adibi received his DDS degree from University of Oklahoma in 1993. After graduation, he entered into private practice in Oklahoma City. He completed a preceptorship in Implantology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1995 and received postgraduate training from the University of Kentucky for management of Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain. He also served as dentist for Harris County Hospital District for 2002-2004 and received recognition for serving America’s underserved communities as a member of the National Health Service Corps.  He is recipient of Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award for Scholarship in Teaching, Top Dentists and Texas Best Doctors & Dentists Awards.

Currently he is an Associate Professor in the Department of General Practice & Dental Public Health, where he teaches Treatment Planning, Assessment and Diagnostic Sciences to dental students. He is the Director for several clinical courses. He serves on several committees at School of Dentistry. In 2010 he became an ad hoc reviewer for American Dental Education Association, Journal of Dental Education. Since he joined School of Dentistry, he has published manuscripts on subjects of Laser Dentistry, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Conflict of interest in research and Patient care.

Dr. Linda May, Assistant Professor at the ECU School of Dental Medicine, teaches dental students and is also an adjunct faculty Assistant Professor of exercise physiology. She conducts research on topics relating to the connection between exercise during pregnancy and development of the baby, and had her research presented in world-wide media outlets, including the New York Times.
She received her PhD from Kent State University and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Her dissertation focus was on the development of the cardiac beta-adrenergic system in BAX and NGF knockout mice.
Dr. May published her first book “Physiology of Prenatal Exercise and Fetal Development” in 2012, and has won the 2012 East Carolina University Health Sciences Author Award.

Aylin Baysan qualified from Hacettepe University School of Medicine and Dentistry, was appointed as Lecturer in the same Institute, then did  MSc in Gerodontology at the Barts and Royal London, and  clinical PhD in Adult Oral Health, in the same schoolShe is completing her Specialist programme (5 year programme) in Restorative Dentistry in 2014.
Her research work regarding detection and management of root caries either using ozone or Duraphat (5,000 ppm Fluoride) toothpaste had an invaluable contribution to the Cariology field as this work is already benefiting many patients throughout the world and the treatment concept allows positive impact on the dental care.
Aylin has extensive experiences in both academic and clinical teaching. She successfully completed her Higher Education Degree with a Merit at King’s College in 2007. She is the Module convenor for the Minimally Invasive Dentistry for MSc in Oral Biology and also Module convenor for the Undergraduate Endodontics at the Barts and Royal London. Dr. Evan Hershkowitz earned his undergraduate degree in Physical and Cultural Anthropology from the University at Buffalo. He went on to Hofstra University and completed his coursework in the Masters of Biology program. His academic achievements at Hofstra earned him acceptance to NYU College of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors in Endodontics.
After dental school, He completed his General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital. During his three years practicing as a General Dentist, he enjoyed working with his littlest patients, so he returned to school to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry. His residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine included extensive training in treating special needs patients.
He has a passion for public health policy and working with underserved children. Shortly after graduating he was humbled to be one of two pediatric dentists in the country to be awarded a federal grant as a “Fellow for the Care of Underserved Children”at Columbia University School of Dentistry. As part of the fellowship, he recently completed a rigorous 2-year Executive Masters in Public Health at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.

Jennifer Hill is an Associate Professor, Department chair, Department of Pediatric dentistry GRU College of dental medicine. She pursued under graduation in B.A, (Communications) 1982, Bachelors of Science(Biology) 1988, Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) 1993, Doctorate Medical Dentistry (Dr.Med.Dent.) 1996, Doctorate of Philosophy Oral Biology (Ph.D.) 2007.
Academically she worked as Instructor and Staff Orthodontist at Germany, Postdoctoral Fellow at Dows Institute for Dental Research, University of Iowa, Iowa City IA USA. She  also worked as an Associate Professor  at Department of Pediatrics, The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, Houston TX USA. 
She also served as Research Coordinator for the University of Texas School of Dentistry Advanced Training Program in Pediatric Dentistry 2011-2012. She served as an editorial board member for Journal of the Pediatric Dentistry(2012- present), Reviewer for special care in dentistry, International Journal of Cosmetic Science, research project co-mentor at University lowa  College of Dentistry. Projects include biochemical and functional analysis of the mammalian epidermal barrier lipids and developing mutagenesis tools for targeted alteration of the genome of cultured human head and neck epithelium and cancer cell lines in order to investigate genetic aspects of carcinogenesis including; initiation, progression, immortalization, invasion and treatment resistance.

Dr. Ranier M. Adarve, DMD, MS, MHPE, Prosthodontist, is a highly trained and experienced dental specialist with impeccable educational background. Great institutions all over the world molded his training and experiences.

Dr. Lincoln Edwards is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Educational Services with  a secondary appointment in the Department of Physiology/Pharmacology in the School of Medicine. He obtained his PhD degree in Pharmacology from Loma Linda University and then went on to Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) where he completed a 3 year Postdoctoral Fellowship. His research has been funded by the NIH and he has been an invited speaker for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) as well as the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.  He  has also served as grant reviewer for The American Heart Association Western States Affiliate and also reviewed papers for the Journal of Public Health Dentistry and Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology.

• Dr. Edwards lab focuses on studying imidazoline compounds as novel treatment for metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes.
• Dr. Edwards and his team investigate the mechanism by which moxonidine, and a novel compound S43126, regulates blood pressure and insulin secretion.
• His lab uses Zucker Diabetic Fatty rats as a model to understand the mechanism by which S43126 simultaneously decreases both blood pressure, and blood glucose levels in these animals following treatment.

Dr. Jewett is Professor and Director of tumor immunology laboratory in the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine, and Wintraub Center for reconstructive biotechnology at UCLA School of Medicine and Dentistry. She has received a number of honors and awards and holds memberships in a number of professional organizations. She serves on the editorial board of journals including Journal of Cancer, PLOS journals, Journal of Immunology , Journal of Clinical Immunology, Journal of Infection and Immunity, Journal of Cellular Immunology, Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Journal of Dental Research, American Journal of Pathology and Blood, to name a few. She was a reviewed member of NIH study section “innate immunity and inflammation” and has been serving on several NIH study sections notably “Innate Immunity and Host Disease”, ‘Transplantation, Tolerance and Tumor Immunology” and “Immunology fellowships”. She has served as the Principal investigator on NIH funded studies in oral cancer and resin toxicity and hypersensitivity in addition to a number of other intramural and extramural funding. She currently serves on a number of schoolwide senate committees and she was the chair of Research Advisory Committee in the School of Dentistry, and currently serves as the chair of Rules and Jurisdictions campuswide.

• Dr. Jewett’s work is concentrated on the mechanisms of inactivation and cell death of Natural Killer cells. These cells play crucial effector functions in the host defense against viral and bacterial infections and malignant transformation.
• Dr. Jewett has shown that cytotoxic function of NK cells is significantly suppressed in the tumor microenvironment by a number of distinct effectors.

Dr. Cody Hughes is originally from southern Nevada. He attended college at Southern Utah University before completing dental school at UNLV School of Dental Medicine in 2007. Following dental school, he completed a 2-year residency program in Pediatric Dentistry at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Hughes owns and operates his own dental practice with offices in Mesquite and Logandale, both located in rural areas of southern Nevada. He is a member of the AAPD, ADA, NDA, SNDA, NAPD, and ADEA. Rhonda J. Everett  is an Assistant Professor in Residence of Clinical Sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)School of Dental Medicine.  She earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry. 

She also served as a Faculty Scholar for the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, in Geriatric Interdisciplinary Training. 
Dr. Everett has been involved with several research projects at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. Her research on Intimate Partner violence was recently published in the March issue of the Journal of Dental Education. 

Currently her project involves the use of electronic health record data to determine the association between oral health status and cardiovascular disease risk factors, Type II diabetes risk factors, and sleep disorders among dental patients of record at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine.

Toan Foeng (Bill) Tham, graduated from University of Missouri, School of Dentistry in 199.He is a clinical faculty at College of Southern Nevada Dental Hygiene School and expertise in the areas of Oral Medicine, Oral Diagnosis, Oral Pathology, Oral Biology, and Head and Neck Laboratory course while he maintained, managed, as an owner of a successful private practice.     

Currently, he is a faculty at the University Of Nevada, Las Vegas, School Of Dental Medicine (UNLV SDM), course director of general clinic stream which requires extensive experiences in both academic and clinical teaching.

He is also the founder and the director of Gold Helping Hands Foundation, a non-profit organization where its missions are to land helping hands for those less fortunate children at home and around the world.
I have written many articles including being a co-author of Rule of Law Index.
Recently, He served as the principal investigator of an oral rinse study to determine the effect on periodontal disease, involved in the clinical study of alternative isolation method as compared to traditional rubber dam method of isolation and other research around the issues of ethics and law.

Dr. James C. Ragain, is a native East Tennessean. He attended the University of Tennessee- Knoxville earning the Bachelor of Science degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Biological Sciences in 1976. Dr. Ragain was commissioned in the Navy Dental Corps. During his tenure in the Navy he completed postgraduate programs in Operative Dentistry (Master of Science degree in Restorative Dentistry, University of Michigan) and Oral Biology/Dental Materials (Doctor of Philosophy degree, The Ohio State University). While in the Navy, he served in numerous senior administrative positions in clinical dentistry and dental research, and he held several adjunct faculty positions.

He is currently appointed as Associate Professor in Restorative Dentistry, he is the director for the undergraduate dental biomaterials courses. He authored or co-authored over 75 professional publications, and he holds three U.S. patent awards. He is on the editorial board of four professional journals, and he served on a joint IOM-NASA subcommittee studying dental issues and treatment of astronauts deployed on long-term space missions. He has served as a member of the UTHSC College of Dentistry Alumni Board of Trustees for ten years. An active member of the board, he has held several official board positions, and he is a Past President of the University of Tennessee Dental Alumni Association. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.

Dr. Kinra received his dental degree from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, in 1999. At that time he proceeded into private practice for the next 3 years. He served as  an Adjunct Professor of Graduate Endodontics and Graduate Periodontics at the University of Detroit-Mercy, School of Dentistry as well as at  the University of Southern California.

He is a member of the AAE, MAE, ADA, MDA and GDDS dental societies. He has recently inducted into the International College of Dentist. He also serves as the committee chair for the ADA: Committee on the New Dentist, and has been chosen to serve on the ADA Institute of Leadership and Diversity.

Dr. Kabilan Velliyagounder is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Biology. He received his Ph.D. from University of Madras, Chennai, India. He started his first postdoctoral training in the Department of Biochemistry at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. In 1997 he started his second postdoctoral research in South Korea. Kabilan joined the Department of Oral Biology at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in 1999. He is working on host-pathogen interaction studies focusing specifically on protective role of lactoferrin on different oral diseases. He is also working on different lactoferrin peptides and testing their effects in in vivo mouse model. In addition, Kabilan has successfully identified a naturally occurring group of organosulfur compounds with a significant potential to be used as an alternative therapy to treat oral and systemic diseases. Apart from research, Kabilan is  teaching Microscopy course to Ph.D. and Master students.

Zhang, Wenjian is an associate professor, Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences at University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Mayoor Patel received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee in 1994.  After graduation he completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). He also earned a Fellowship in the American Academy of Oro-facial Pain, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and the Academy of General Dentistry.  He also became a Diplomat in the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Oro-facial Pain and American Board of Craniofacial Pain.
He is also an adjunct faculty member at Tufts University and Georgia Regents University.  And since 2003, Dr. Patel has limited his practice to the treatment of TMJ Disorders, Headaches, Facial Pain and Sleep Apnea.  Through these areas, he maintains the ability to treat areas of dentistry that are not commonly focused on.

M.Omer Gorduysus (DDS, PhD, Professor)  graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Dentistry-Ankara/Turkey with the degree of DDS, completed his Post-graduate Program in Endodontics in the United States at the University of Southern California with the scholarship of Turkish Goverment and received the title of "Specialist in Endodontics, later received his PhD degree  from Hacettepe University, and then went to ACTA of Amsterdam with the scholarship of the Goverment of the Netherlands (given by NUFFIC) for short visit, after that became invited professor and clinical instructor at the University of Toronto. Still active in the field of research, mentorship and has publications in SCI covered and in some other national and international journals. Alessandro L Cavalcanti is a Professor of Dental Public Health, and Chair of the Post Graduate Program in Public Health at the State University of Paraiba (UEPB) and Editor in Chief of a Brazilian Dental Journal. He earned his dental degree from the Federal University of Paraiba, a master’s degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Sao Paulo, a doctor in Stomatology at Federal University of Paraiba, and a postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at Federal University of Minas Gerais.
Presently he is a member of the board of the Brazilian Society of Paediatric Dentistry and Brazilian Dental Association.

He earned his Dental degree (B.D.S) from Faculty of Oral Dental Medicine, Cairo University, Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from the same University and a Doctor’s degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from Bucharest University. He is a member of the scientific Board of Egyptian Fellowship of Oral & Jaws Surgery and Arab Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also, a General Secretary of promotion committee for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Egypt.

Professor Emad has several publications in well known national & international Journals and has maintained a private practice over 27 years.

Dr. Izzet is a professor for Pediatric Dentistry at the Dentistry Faculty of Dicle University in Diyarbakir, Turkey. He pursued all his degree from Turkish universities. He is specialized in pediatric dentistry, 3D Cone Beam Dental Volumetric Tomography, ectodermic dysplasia, micro leakage and many others. He has published more than 75 papers in national and international Journals and presented more than 40 papers in national and international conferences.

        He served as a head for Ectodermic Dysplasia Group, where the people of this group voluntarily help who has ectodermic dysplasia genetical disorders. He also worked as a head Doctor of the Dicle University Faculty of Dentistry, 10/December/2007 – 11/September/2009. He owned the position of Editor-in-Chief and General Director of the Journal of International Dental and Medical Research. He is also certified from “Imaging Sciences International Education Department PA USA”, about Operations Training on the I-Cat Cone Beam 3d Dental Imaging System Date; 29 July 2008. Simone Cecilio Hallak Regalo is an Associate Professor in Department of Morphology, Stomatology and Physiology at School of Dentistry, São Paulo University (FORP), Brazil.
She perused her graduation in Dentistry from the University of Londrina (1988), Masters in Biology and Oral Pathology, in the area of Surface Electromyography from the State University of Campinas (FOP) (2000), PhD in Biology and Oral Pathology, in the area of Surface Electromyography from the State University of Campinas (FOP) (2001). She is working as a Professor at FORP / USP since 2005 and is currently Associate Professor, Department of Morphology, Stomatology and Physiology, Faculty of Dentistry of Ribeirao Preto, University of São Paulo. She was Responsible for the Museum of Anatomy "Prof. Edgard Ignacio's FORP / USP and a full member of the National Research Ethics (CONEP), linked to the National Board of Health - Ministry of Health since October 2007. She also has experience in the field of Dentistry, Anatomy, Ethics, Histology, Laser and Pathology, acting on the following topics: Electromyography, skeletal muscle, muscle disorders, chew, bite force, macroscopic and microscopic anatomy, laser dentistry, and acupuncture in dentistry, bone and liver toxicity of medicinal plants. Dr. Rami El Assal is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Canary Center for Cancer Early Detection, Department of Radiology, Stanford University School of Medicine, Palo Alto, CA.

Before moving to Stanford, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA. Dr. El Assal received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Ajman University of Science and Technology, Ajman, UAE in 2007. Dr. Michel Goldberg is a Dental Surgeon and professor in Paris Descartes University. He received his doctorate in dental science in the year 1973 from University René Descartes and also he received another doctorate degree in the field of Natural science in 1973 from the University Pierre et Marie Curie. He did his research works in many fields like Extracellular matrix and biomineralizations (phosphorylated and glycosylated proteins, proteoglycans, phospholipids, metalloproteinases); Development of dental tissues (dentinogenesis, amelogenesis); Pulp biology, adult STEM cells, recruitment and differentiation; Tissue engineering (biocompatibility of restorative biomaterials with pulp cells). His Articles was published around 230 in International journals and 100 in French journals. He received Distingish Service Award IADR (2003) and IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Pulp Biology Research (2006) of his enormous contribution in the research field.
