Biography Dr. Ng received his Ph.D. and M.Des. degree from the Royal College of Art, London. He earned the first Practice-led PhD in Fashion Womenswear in the world. In addition, he holds an Executive MBA degree. Dr. Ng was appointed a fashion expert of the UNIDO for a two-month consultancy mission at DPR Korea after a worldwide recruitment exercise. In 2003, Dr. Ng was invited as one of the keynote speakers at the Shanghai Fashion Week. Dr. Ng is an academic, design researcher as well as a design practitioner, practicing across fashion, textile, graphic, interior and product designs. He has published more than 200 papers in refereed academic journals, trade journals, and refereed international conference proceedings. He holds several invention patents, and his creative works have won tens of design and research awards, many of which are seen in various exhibitions, shows and TV coverages. He served as a member of the editorial board of various design research journals and has been invited referee for top-notched SCI-indexed international journals and vetter of business plans. Dr. Ng is invited Adjunct Professor and Visiting Professor of a few universities of mainland China. He is listed in various Who’s Who directories. Biography Professor Jinlian Hu is one of the most active and productive scientists in the field of smart textiles and textile materials. Professor HU founded the Shape Memory Textiles Centre in 2003, which has been a driving force in the successful establishment of an extensive collaboration and partnership of academic organizations and industrial enterprises worldwide. Over the years, Prof Hu has achieved international reputation for her insight in conventional and emerging research areas, particularly shape memory textiles and is a frequently and widely invited plenary or keynote speaker at international conferences. Prof JL Hu, as the 1st person outside USA in Asia, received the Award for Distinguished Achievement in Fiber Science from the US-based Fiber Society in 2001. She is also the 1st Hong Kong scholar obtained the prestigious First-Class Sang Ma Prize in Textile Science and Technology in 2006. In 2011, she got the Textile Academic Leader award from China Textile Engineering Society and became a 1000-Person expert by the Central Chinese Government. Biography Janet Coulterholds a BA (Hons) In Textiles and Fashion Design. She has an MBA; an MSc. in Multimedia with Computer Based Learning, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education. She is currently undertaking a PhD in the field of fashion and wearable technology and is investigating if e-fashion can change the meaning of clothes and become an effective medium to manage wearers emotional health and well-being, whilst retaining a fashion identity. She is particularly interested in how this could support female student stress. Coulter is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Design at Ulster University, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK. She is also a Fellow of Higher Education and Research Practice, at Ulster. Additionally, she holds the position of Director of Academic Enterprise and Innovation, within the Faculty of Art, Design and The Built Environment. In 2013 she was awarded a Distinguished Fellow of Enterprise, by Ulster for her contribution to the economy, both locally and internationally. Before entering academia, Coulter was a practicing fashion designer in industry. She worked in the field of international design intelligence in Paris; couture fashion design in London, and as a design manager in fashion manufacturing, managing international portfolios of commercial and corporate wear design; Coulter has 20 years of teaching experience in higher education and has expertise is in creative design, advanced 3D pattern engineering and CAD based design technologies. She also teaches design management and entrepreneurship in the creative industries to students and SMEs. She is currently an external examiner of fashion and textilesin Scotland. Coulter has been PI on a number of research grants investigating protection for sports and military; moisture management in soft body armour; 3D thermoplastically moulded armour for female officers and quick release systems for battlefield situations. Additionally, she has had successful research projects in circular economy design, drag co-efficiency garments to reduce risk of injury in greyhounds; sustainable design projects, developing sportswear jackets with bi-products from duck farms and sports training products to promote safe lifting in rugby lineouts. She has an interest in STEM related to design and has recent publications on the multidisciplinary challenges of co-design between the fields of design and science. In 2017 she won the Rolls Royce Science Prize (Employers Choice) for her STEM related work in e-textiles. Research Interest

Since 2009 she is an Associate Professor in Fashion Design and Pattern Making at Trakia University, Faculty of Techniques and Technologies, Yambol, Bulgaria. In the period 2012-2015 Zlatina Kazlacheva was Vice Dean of International Relations and Science of the Faculty of Techniques and Technologies. Biography Sevda Altas obtained her bachelor degree in Textile Engineering Department from the University of Ege in 2001. In 2002 she has started to work as a lecturer in Ege University. She has lectured textile technology subjects such as; yarn spinning technology, yarn quality parameters, fabric production and ect. After starting working she has started master program in Ege University Textile Engineering Department. She obtained M.Sc. and PhD degrees from the same university. Her master thesis is entitled “Investigation of the Effects of Raw Material Properties on the Hairiness of Cotton Yarns” in 2005. Her PhD thesis is entitled “Comparison of Yarn and Fabrics Produced by Rocos Compact Yarn Bending System and Conventional Ring Yarn Bending Technique” in 2009. She has worked 6 months in RWTH Aachen University via Socrates/Erasmus program in Germany about Dref Spinning Technology. She has published many scientific articles and presented many researches in the conferences about the subjects ranging from yarn production methods, quality parameters and technical textiles such as shape memory textiles. She has one lecture book entitled “Cotton Yarn Technology”. She has carried many projects supported from university and other public sources. Biography Mohd Rozi is an Associate Professor in the field of textile science and technology. He has served the faculty as a lecturer and researcher for 18 years. He has a PhD in Science from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia (2008); MSc in Textile Engineering from University of Leeds, UK (2000); BSc in Textile Engineering from Philadelphia University, USA (1995) and Diploma in Textile Technology from Institut Teknologi MARA, Malaysia (1993). Prior to being an academic staff, Mohd Rozi worked in the textile industry for several years at the middle management position. He is now actively involved in postgraduate supervision, conducting research and offering services to the industry and community. Mohd Rozi has received several research grants in textile mechanics, yarn technology and natural dyes, obtained from the Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Currently, he is supervising several postgraduate students and has produced 7 MSc and 2 PhD graduates. He also teaches undergraduate students in yarn production technology, technical textiles and supervising them in final year projects. He has been involved in giving lectures, short courses and consultancy services on textile related areas for various government and private organisations such as Jabatan Forensik, Polis Diraja Malaysia; Jabatan Bomba & Penyelamat Malaysia, Kastam Diraja Malaysia; Sime Darby Research Sdn Bhd; STRIDE (Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia); MAPA Gloves Sdn Bhd and many others. He currently holds 4 patents, and along with a team of researchers, has commercialised one research product, Songket Structures with Jacquard, through a collaboration with a local textile company. Mohd Rozi has published more than 50 scientific papers in indexed journals and conference proceedings. In addition, he is also active in reviewing research articles for several journals related to textiles. For his active involvement in research, he was awarded the Faculty’s Best Researcher in 2003 and 2015.
