| Biography Georgios Michailidis graduated from the School Agriculture, Department of Animal Science, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2000. He continued his studies for a doctoral thesis at the School of Cell and Molecular Biosciences, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K., were he obtained his Ph.D. at 2004. He then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Agrobiotechnology, CERTH, Greece, until 2007. At this year he became Lecturer in School of Agriculture, Department of Animal Production, Laboratory of Physiology of Reproduction of Farm Aninals, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. | Biography
Ahmed Abdel-Wareth was born in Nakada, Qena, Egypt, in 28 May1981. He received the B.Sc. degree in Agriculture Science from South Valley University, Qena, Egypt, in 2002, and the MS.c degree in agriculture Science (Poultry Production) from Minia University 2006 and then Ph.D. degree in agriculture Science (Poultry Nutrition) from the Institute of Animal Science, Bonn University, Germany 2011. In 2003, he joined the Department of Animal and Poultry Production, South Valley University, as a Demonstrator, and in 2007 became assistant Lecturer. He has been with the Animal Nutrition Group, ITW, Bonn University, Germany as a Ph.D. researcher. Since January 2011, he joined the Department of Animal and Poultry Production, South Valley University, as a Lecturer. Again in 2013 to 2014, he got Postdoctoral position at ITW, Bonn University, Germany; where he is currently joined back his position as a Lecturer and manager of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Project at Faculty of Agriculture, South Valley University. His current research interests Poultry Nutrition, feed additives (herbal ingredients, probiotics, enzymes and amino acids), meat quality, blood biochemical and digestion. Dr. Abdel-Wareth has attended and participated in more than 12 international conferences in agriculture science and social science. He is a member and a reviewer of 6 international journals in agriculture science and biotechnology. Dr. Abdel-Wareth has published 19 papers in the field of poultry nutrition and production. He is teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the field of Poultry production and Poultry Nutrition in Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He is Principle investigator (PI) of Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of science, higher education and postgraduate education between Bonn University, Germany and South Valley University, Egypt. Research Interest Dr. Ahmed A. A. Abdel-Wareth working as Associate Professor of Poultry Nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, South-Valley University, Egypt. Dr. Abdel-Wareth devotes of his research and academic efforts on the nutrition and physiology of poultry, using nutritional factors that improve growth rate, production, meat and egg quality, and health of poultry, digestive development and immune function, pro-nutrient feed additives, nutritional value of food industry co-products, and nutrient management. More recently, his researches involved into alternatives to in-feed antibiotics in poultry diets using phytogenic, probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, organic acids, antioxidants. | Biography Rashed Alhotan is an assistant professor of poultry nutrition at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He received his B.S. degree with first class honor from King Saud University in 2005 majoring in Animal Production. He completed his M.S. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011 and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia-Athens in 2016. His research interests focus on improving linear and stochastic poultry feed formulation software, reducing nutrient variability in feedstuffs, modeling and evaluating poultry response to new feedstuffs/cultivars and modeling nutrient requirements. Dr. Alhotan has published several refereed Journal Articles, conference presentations, bulletins and software series in his field. | Biography Servet Yalcin joined to the Department of Animal Science at Ege University in 1988 as a research assistant after 7 years experience in research and development department of a private poultry breeder company. She started PhD studies in 1984 and received PhD degree in poultry science in 1990, later associate professor and professor in 1992 and 2002, respectively. Her current responsibilities include teaching and research. Her research focus is on environment and genetic interaction and metabolic disorders, epigenetic, embryo development, meat quality in broilers. She teaches a class in introduction to poultry science to undergraduates and 4 classes to MD and PhD students. She is author and co-author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and participated in numerous regional, national and international scientific meetings as speaker and invited speaker. She is member of World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) since 1996. She is executive committee member of Turkish branch of WPSA and Mediterranean Poultry Network of WPSA. His research interest includes: Fish biology - Research efforts have included ontogenetic diet shifts in larval fish, fish feeding behavior under captivity, fish cannibalism, and bioenergetics modeling; Aquaculture - Research interests concern pond fertilization theory and practice, green-water aquaculture, water quality management, fish nutrition, selective breeding in fish and shrimps, polyploidy induction, and fish farming in tanks, cages, and ponds. Dr. Muslah Uddin Ahammad is a Professor of Poultry Science at the Department of Poultry Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. He graduated with “gold medal honor”from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh in 2000 majoring in Animal Husbandry. He completed his M.S. in Poultry Science degree with “distinction honor” from the same University in 2002. Later, he received International Diploma with “outstanding graduate honor”in Animal Feed from the PTC+, Barneveld, the Netherlands in 2005. He obtained his second Master’s degree majoring in Animal Breeding from the Department of Bio-Production, Faculty of Agriculture, University of the Ryukyus, Japan in 2010, and achieved his Ph.D. with “award for student excellence” from the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University, Japan in 2013. He currently holds Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Department of Poultry Science, University of Georgia, USA.
Dr. Ahammad won Dr. B. V. Rao-World’s Poultry Science Association (India Branch) Post-Graduate Poultry Research Award in 2001. He was a research fellow of the National Science and Information & Communication Technology (NSICT), Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology, the Government of Bangladesh in 2002. He was a recipient of merit prize of Bangladesh Agricultural University in 2003. He received the Netherlands Government “NFP” fellowship in 2005, and Japanese Government “Monbukagakusho” Scholarship in 2006 for 6.5 years. He was awarded Provimi award in 2005 from PTC+, the Netherlands and youth program award in 2010 at the 13th European Poultry Conference held in Tours, France, and young scientist award in 2011 at the 9thAsia Pacific Poultry Conference held in Taipei, Taiwan. He also received many travel grants from the British Poultry Science Ltd., World’s Poultry Science Association, and Foundation for Promoting Poultry Science (the Netherlands), to attend different international poultry conferences held in France, Australia, Taiwan, Turkey, Thailand, and Brazil.
He was a former member of World’s Poultry Science Association (Japan branch and Bangladesh branch), and is a current member of Poultry Science Association, and World’s Poultry Science Association (US branch). He has been a life member of Bangladesh Animal Husbandry Association since 2002.
He is an author and a co-author of numerous articles published in peer-reviewed scientific international journals, including Theriogenology, Animal Reproduction Science, Poultry Science, British Poultry Science, Journal of Poultry Science, Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, and International Journal of Poultry Science. He serves as a reviewer of many journals, including Theriogenology, Plos One, Journal of Applied Poultry Research, Archive on Veterinary Science and Technology, Bangladesh Journal of Animal Science, The Agriculturists, Journal of Advanced Veterinary and Animal Research, and Research in Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. Research Interest The domain of his research includes Poultry Nutrition, Physiology of Reproduction, Reproductive Immunology and Proteomics. His current research focuses on “Proteomic studies of sperm and inner perivitelline layer (IPVL) proteins and their role in fertilization of avian species”. The recent finding of his research is “Sperm-associated antigen (SPAG) 6, a flagellar protein important in mammalian fertility, is sequentially expressed in the male reproductive tract and associated with increased sperm mobility in the rooster”. His researches in the field of Poultry Nutrition focus on finding alternatives to antibiotics for the production of safe broiler meat as well as developing sustainable technologies for reducing feed cost of poultry production. Dr. Ahammad specializes in least-cost ration formulation, de novo feeding technique, separation of IPVL from follicles and oviposited eggs, in vitro sperm-IPVL interaction assay, acrosome reaction, gelatin-slide technique for acrosomal proteolytic assay, sperm physiology, protein quantitation with Lowry and Bradford methods, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western, far-Western, 2D gel electrophoresis, RT-PCR, affinity chromatography, immunocytochemistry, immuno-electron microscopy, immuno- and co-immunoprecipitation (pull down assay). | |

| Biography Dr Akinrotimi Ojo Andrew graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria with Bachelor of Agriculture degree in Animal Science (1999), obtained Post graduate diploma, PGD in Fisheries; Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of philosophy (PhD) degrees in Aquaculture, in 2007, 2009, 2014 respectively, from Rivers State University of science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He joined African Regional Aquaculture Centre of Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research, Port Harcourt, (Affiliated to Rivers State University of Science and Technology) in 2005 as a Research officer II and rose to the rank of Principal Research officer in 2014. He is a fisheries expert with the scientific and technical expertise in various research activities; management of fisheries stock through mass production of fish seed and improved culture techniques of fin and shell fishes; health management of cultured fish, through determination of haematological and biochemical profiles. Toxicological evaluation and safety assessment of some marine sea foods. Dr. Xiu-qi Wang is a Prof. at College of Animal Science, South China Agricultural University. My major is animal nutrition and physiology. We focus on swine adult stem cell (i.e. intestinal stem cell and skeletal muscle satellite cell), amino acid transporter and protein metabolism; feed additives especially in feed enzyme, hydrolysis wheat gluten, isoflavone etc.; and industrialization of broiler pigeon. There are more than 35 papers published in Journal of Animal Science, Poultry Science,Animal, British Poultry Science, Oncotarget, Livestock Science, Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Molecular & Integrative Physiology, Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition and so on since 2011. In 2011, he successfully completed M.Sc. thesis (Relationship between productive and physiological traits in V-line rabbits during production season). In 2014, he graduated Ph.D. thesis (Seasonal and molecular variability of some productive traits in rabbits) in the Department of Poultry Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University.
