| Biography Prof. Gheita is currently Professor of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. He is a Certified EULAR Rheumatologist, Switzerland (4th edition; 2009), member of the EULAR Task Force committee, Treasurer of the Egyptian Society for Rheumatic Diseases (ESRD) and Technical Office Member of the Vice-President of Cairo University for Graduate Studies and Research Affair (Medical Sector Consultant). Supervised on and discussed 25+ MD and M.Sc. theses and was acknowledged by many. He is member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), Switzerland. Editor In-Chief of the Egyptian Rheumatologist Journal (Elsevier); Editorial Board Member of 20+ International Journals such as the International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases; International Journal of Clinical Rheumatology; European Journal of Rheumatology; Annals of Pediatric Rheumatology; African Journal of Rheumatology, and is on the Review Board of 100+ International Journals in the field of Medicine, Rheumatology, Clinical Immunology and Pharmacology. He reviewed landmark textbooks as ‘Rheumatology’ (6th edition;2015), Pediatric Rheumatology (7th edition;2016) and Kelley and Firestein's Textbook of Rheumatology (10th edition;2017). He shared in the scientific and organizing committee of several regional conferences. Certificates of excellence were awarded for his effort in endorsing the practice of Rheumatology in regional countries, for his outstanding participation in medical convoys to underprivileged provinces in Egypt. Attended and successfully passed the courses held by Cairo University recognized by the International Board of Certified Trainers (IBCT), The Netherlands. Co-Editor of 10+ scientific books internationally published mostly in the field of Rheumatology. He has authored 100+ publications in top ranked international journals. Having acceptable computer skills (ICDL, UNESCO, USA, 2009) he holds the Platinum BMJ learning high-usage certificate, for successfully accomplishing rheumatology modules. He is the founder of the largest RHEUMATOLOGY facebook group established 2008; and chief admin of the EGYPTIAN COLLEGE OF RHEUMATOLOGY (ECR) established 2017, football and travelling are the preferable hobbies. Professor Gheita studied and attended his school in London, UK. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University (December 1993) (Excellent with grade of Honors), attained the M.Sc degree (1997) with an excellent grade and successfully received his MD degree (2003). He is an active full-time Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology Professor since 2013.
