Ayman Mahdy, MD, PhD,has joined the UC Department of Surgery as an assistant professor of urology. Dr. Mahdy received his formal residency training in Urology in Egypt in 2003. He graduated from and held a staff position at Assiut University Hospital in the same year. He then moved to the US in 2005. He obtained a basic research fellowship in prostate disease at the Medical University of South Carolina (2005-2007) and then moved to Florida where he was trained at Cleveland Clinic Florida and obtained state-of-the-art training in Voiding Dysfunction, Female Urology, Urodynamics and Urologic Reconstruction. Dr. Mahdy was also an assistant professor at the University of Arkansas from October 2009 to March 2011.
Dr. Mahdy has published over 25 peer reviewed articles, eight book chapters and over 40 meeting abstracts and videos. He has presented over 25 state-of-the-art lectures to different societies and at different scientific meetings.

Biography
Dr. Hakan R. Toka graduated in 1997 with MD degree from the Charite, Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. His thesis work characterized a rare form of hypertension associated with skeletal abnormalities. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine (IM) at Charite, Dr.Toka joined the laboratory of Dr. Richard Lifton at Yale University, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, investigating the molecular mechanisms of rare blood pressure variation associated with electrolyte abnormalities. After this postdoctoral training, he completed IM residency at the University of Massachusetts in 2007. He was the recipient of the Primary Care Award for excellence in patient care. Dr. Toka then pursued a Nephrology specialty training at the joint program of the Massachusetts General & Brigham and Women’s Hospitals (BWH), Harvard Medical School (HMS). After his clinical fellowship training, Dr. Toka joined the laboratory of Dr. Martin Pollak at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, HMS, where his research focused on the genetics of urinary calcium excretion and kidney stones. He joined the Nephrology faculty of the BWH in 2010, where he was the Associate Director for Peritoneal Dialysis. In 2014, Dr. Toka was recognized as Hypertension Specialist by the American Society of Hypertension. In the same year, Dr. Toka joined the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, as Program Director for Nephrology Fellowship Training at the rank of Assistant Professor. Dr. Toka is currently the Chief of Nephrology at the VA Medical Center in Hampton, VA, and Director of the outpatient hemodialysis unit. Research Interest

Biography Dr. Sree Bhushan Raju joined at Nizams Institute of medical Sciences as a faculty in 2002 after obtaining DM degree from the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi. He was a recipient of Prof. HL Trivedi gold medalist in DNB (nephrology) in the year 2002. He received the fellowships from Indian College of Physicians (FICP), Indian society of Nephrology (FISN) and Indian academy of Clinical Medicine (FIACM). Biography Dr. Mohammed Said ElSheemy after obtaining his medical degree from Cairo University in 1999. He earned a Master of Science then Doctor of Medicine in Urology in 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor of Urologyat Cairo University, Egypt. He is a member of the pediatric renal transplantation team that started this program in 2010 in the Aboul-Riche Children hospital, Cairo University. Based on his research, a surgeon tailored ordinary polypropylene mesh was inserted as a mid-urethral tape for treatment of SUI using his own-designed (with his team) helical passers with marked decrease in the cost of treatment. An important part of his research was on calcular anuria in children and infants which resulted for the 1st time in a protocol for management depending on severity of obstruction, size and site of stones, and renal functions. He has published several scientific papers and book chapters and serves as an editor or international reviewer in several scientific journals. These research activities was supported by several courses inscientific writing and advanced statistical analysis. He is a member of several societies in Urologyincluding European Association of Urology(EAU) and European Society for Pediatric Urology (ESPU). He has served as Assistant-Secretary of Pediatric Urology Section of Egyptian Urological Association (EUA). Biography Dr. Sanjay Guptais a Professor & Research Director and holds Carter Kissell Endowed Chair in Urologic Oncology in the Department of Urology at Case Western Reserve University and The Urology Institute at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center. He also holds secondary appointments in the Departments of Nutrition and Division of General Medical Sciences at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. He has joint appointment as Research Scientist at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio. He obtained faculty position in 2002 at Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine. His research involves basic, translational and clinical areas of focus. In basic research his focus is to understand the risk factors and mechanisms of prostatic and bladder diseases and develop appropriate biomarkers for early detection and prognosis. Translational research focus is to identify novel targets to monitor the efficacy of various synthetic and natural agents and develop them as chemo preventatives/therapeutics. His clinical research interests are translation of bench research to its application in clinics. He has authored some 150 publications, including book chapters, research articles and reviews, and has spoken at several occasions in cancer prevention symposium, seminars and meetings. He has been serving in various study sections at National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Department of Defense (DOD), and other councils around the globe.
