Prof. Giuseppe Piccione is full professor in Veterinary Physiology. He has published more than 275 papers in an international peer reviewed Journals. He is also author of 10 book chapters, 196 proceedings of national and international congresses. His research activity is focused on the study of temporal organization of physiological and behavioral process and, in particular, on the circadian time keeping system of domestic animals. He investigates the influence of environmental signals, such as light temperature and feeding, on the central and peripheral circadian oscillators and their outputs in domestic animals. Using a multidisciplinary approach (from gene to behavior) his research activity has allowed him to achieve significant results for understanding of the circadian timing system in domestic animals. During his research activity, he had the opportunity to participate to several national and international scientific networks. This networking has the resulted in a set of common publications, and in some academic invitations in order to develop common research programs. Research Interest

Dr. Jose C. Segura Correa is a professor at the Campus de Ciencias Biológicas y Agropecuarias of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in México. In 1978, Dr. Segura got his Bachelor and MSc in Animal Science by the Colegio Superiorde Agricultura Tropical in Cárdenas, Tabasco, Mexico. He completed his PhD degree in Animal Breeding by the McGill University in Canada. Dr. Jose C. Chiara Giudice is an Assistant professor at School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Milan. She obtained her PhD from the University of Milan, 2001, with a thesis on ocular pathology, after a period spent in the COPLOW laboratory (held by Prof. RR Dubielzig) of the Veterinary Medical School of Wisconsin. She (ECVP) diplomated in 2009. Her research interest is mostly focused on veterinary ocular pathology and comparative oncology. In 1999-2005 worked as a researcher assistant in Çukurova University conducting research in the area of using different adsorbents in animal diets to diminish the harmful effects of mycotoxins. In 2005-2008 worked onthe nutrition and the welfare and behavior livestock animals in Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.During this period he joined many projects. Dr. Sushrut Arora completed his B.V.Sc & A.H in 2002 at College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, MHOW, India. He did his M.V.Sc. in Veterinary Public Heath at College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Mathura, India, where he worked on developing rapid methods for detection of food borne pathogens and was recipient of the University Merit Scholarship. Later he was trained at a BSL-3+ laboratory where he worked on molecular- and Immuno-detection of different pathogens, such as avian influenza virus, bovine immunodeficiency virus and anthrax. He finished his Ph.D. from Biomedical Diagnostics Institute, Dublin City University, and Dublin, Ireland in 2011. During Ph.D. he was recipient postgraduate research scholarship under Postgraduate Research Scholarship Scheme of the Embark Initiative of the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET), Ireland and worked on development of antibody-based strategies for detection of sub-clinical mastitis. Thereafter, he joined Postdoctoral Fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Health), Houston, USA and worked on antibody characterization for their catalytic potential for therapeutic targeting. Subsequently, at Rice University, Houston, USA, he studied the role of a short secreted cytokine in cornea development using chicken model. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Associate at Baylor College of Medicine and working on developing vaccines and diagnostics for Urea plasma and Group B Streptococci. Alesandra Pelagalli is a senior researcher in veterinary physiology at Department of Advanced Biomedical Sciences of University of Naples, Italy. Her research activity has been focused on the study of platelet function in different animal species by characterization of aggregation, adhesion and receptor activation processes. Recently her activity has moved on aquaporin activity as regulators of water and small solutes movement in different districts (digestive and reproductive) of the body in domestic animals. Also, other interests are the distribution and role of orexins in tracts of domestic animals. Recently, the research is focused on the characterization of activities of ovine mesenchymal stem cells. She has published more than 35 papers in international peer reviewed Journals. She is also author 60 proceedings of national and international congresses. During her research activity, he had the opportunity to participate to several national and international scientific congresses.
